Crafting meets gardening. Pot people

Had some fun this last 2 weeks combining two of my hobbies - craft and gardening.
Inspired by friend we both got some pots and stuff and started making as I call it pot people and animals.
This is what I came up with thanks to Pinterest and youtube videos. Lots of material in there. Still have to out some plants in

My pup reluctantly posed for me.
Excuse the mess .
Planning to add more to the collection soon.
Do share in comments what all hobbies you have taken up during this last year in our unusual times.

Flower Shutter rocker card

I always wanted to try to make a shutter card and when Diamond press came out with the die I so wanted to try out the die set.
I missed out on the hidden messages die autoship but when just the mechanism was on the website I grabbed it and so glad I did.
Even though I have an svg file and have done it using cutting machine for this I prefer the die as it cuts clean the small tiny tabs and prongs? needed to assemble this mechanism.
I love interactive cards and thought why not combine a rocker card with the shutter opening.
The big flower has been drawn and cut out by hand.

1st Snow Experience

Storm Uri left thousands of Texans cold- without electricity and water problems for days amidst a Pandemic.

Broken pipes, drinking water boil notices..

Texas was ill-prepared and most of the buildings' plumbing poorly planned built to cope with cold weather.

But there were some fun moments and that was snow play..

It was the 1st snow experience for my 2 Aussie pups - Chronen and Sierra.

Their first hesitant exploration. Chronen enjoyed it a lot. Sierra who is scared of rain needed to be convinced 😁 and then she too started frolicking.

I am more of a card maker than a scrapbooker. But this year I am going to try making layouts.

For now you can say my style is Organic.

For this layout of course I had to whip out the diamond press dies and stamps - puppy love, pet border and even the slimline dies - I think pawsome.

I have even stamped and used alphabet stamps and dies for parts of the title.

#diamondpress

Some of the stamps without dies are fussy-cut.
One of the stamps - "life is ruff" - I masked the ruff word out and added Pawsome stamp in it's place.
Paper Stack used is DCWV - The Pet Stack.
I loved the slimline dies and stamps. A closer look

Since my dogs are red merle and blue merle I tried coloring the stamps that way too.
And since my pups tails are docked 😔 - poor pups
I docked the tail in the stamp too.
Since I wanted one of the stamps also to face the reverse way ie facing the opposite direction I used a juicy ink pad - stamped onto acetate and then laid the paper on it. Thus giving me a mirror image

loved the border dies. perfect for the page.
But it still needed some pop. So I used an adhesive glitter foam pad and cut out an icicle border freehand and added to the top. Also sprinkled some snowflakes (cut out from holographic mirri and white cardstock) throughout. Scribbled some notes and a double-page layout complete.
Thank you for reading.
Hope you enjoy the pics of my 2 little monkeys 💓💓

Window

It's been a long time since I last posted. It has been a long time since I crafted too.
Opening the window to crafting again hopefully with this post.
Hubby won't be that happy as that means crafting supplies bills 😁
Made this card with diamond press dies and stamps. One of my 6 fav companies.
I have used the window view sets.
#diamondpress
I am rusty in blogging and crafting. hopefully will clean up soon.

Love the window view sets. it was an autoship and I think I have mixed 2 sets from that.

The trees and bunnies were fussy cut by hand while the flowers , pot, grass, sun, cloud, and windows are die-cuts.

Lol have to say that the card has more flowers than my garden right now after the Texas Freeze.

I wanted a bit of texture so used paper clay brick wall ( made using brick wall silicone mould/mold).

Thought that a center step card would be the apt base to display the die cuts. You know how I love interactive cards.

Just added a sentiment and a simple card is ready.

Thank you for reading.

Will try to post more and share.

Make your thin dies go the extra distance.

When you have  thin dies one option you have is cutting it up in half with a cutter. Decide which way you want to cut it up -Vertical or horizontal and have a snip.
Now you  can use the dies in so many different ways. As it was originally intended , or as edge die or as a window die .
If you are like me you can get 2 sets and cut up one set and keep the other pristine.
I would cut up maybe just a couple of bigger dies if it was a nesting die and keep the inner ones intact if using just 1 set.

Ebosser with 2 A plates. Yes it can be done.

I wanted to try this for a long time and at last I did. For those having ebosser (not cut n boss) who want to use 2 of those see through A plates. Yes you can! Get an additional C plate. C plates are available at craftwell site. (Always better to have an extra c and d plate as u never know when they will not be available anymore.) Keep the D and B aside. The sandwich for thin dies becomes - two C plates 's, and A plate , magnetic shim, die, cardstock and another A plate . You can cut without the magnetic shim too. And hooray since you are using the 2 A plates you can use the double cut dies from crafters companion too.
And here is the cut from crafters companion double cut dies - rose

Wanna Dance with Somebody...

That song kept ringing in my ears while I saw the image for Sasayaki FB Challenge last fortnight

The Bendi card is made using Tonic Window dies. Image colored with prismacolor pencils and copics. The embossing folder is Tattered Lace. I wrote in the sentiment instead of printing. Sometimes you need to have your won handwriting on stuff even if it's not all that good. As we get older and with all the technology nowadays I look at the pen or pencil in my hands and almost forget how to use it to write. That's bad.

Happy Father's Day Pop up Slider Card

For this fortnight's Sasayaki FB Challenge I decided to do the pop up slider card again. You can find the cut file for almost all the machines under the respective tabs under the main menu. It will be called Pop Up Slider Card.

Here's the card. Image colored with copics and prisma colored pencil.

Antique Lace - DS4J

Recently I got some tattered lace dies and this collection - the ornamental antique lace I should say is one of my favorites along with the tuck in dies to match.
And When I saw the digistamp4joy challenge this month both on the Fb Challenge page and their challenge Blogspot I thought this would be the perfect die to use.

Image : Dress up Dummy (which can be got from this link here after reading and following the rules)
Colored with copics and the background is with distress ink and prismacolor pencils
Dies used : Tattered lace ornamental antique rectangles , ornamental tuck in dies and flower medley
Sentiment : Printed in computer.

Happy Spring from Flower Ant

This card is for the Mid March FB Challenge at Sassayaki Glitter.
Quick coloring with copics and cut out by using scissors, trimmer and spellbinder die.

A few more die cuts for embellishments. The central one at the bottom is snipped from tattered lace die and the corner dies are from cottage cutz . A few rhinestones to glitter up and the card is done.

Spring Card

Here's another card and this time for Scrapper's delight. I was able to walk up the stairs  to my craft room to create and sat and did 3 cards at a stretch and this is the 3rd one scheduled one a day :)
The image is a cute egg in a basket so I decided to make an Spring/Easter Card.
The die cut is frame die from Amy Designs. The embossing folder is cherry folder from either Darice or Sue Wilson. Not sure.
Image is colored using copics.

You Color my World

Made this simple card for Art by Barb FB Challenge.
I created the background using photoshop. And colored the image using copics.
Cut the grass using Martha Stewart Scissors which has multiple blades rather like herb scissors.
I hand drew and cut some copic markers to add  more embellishments .
But that's it.

Hugs - Scrappers delight friday freebie

Made a card with the cute friday freebie image from scrappersdelight for the FB Challenge.
I also used the xmas background topper from the shop for the background.
Had to manipulate with photoshop as I wanted the image to be white inside itself but to show the (outside the outline of the person) the background as transparent. Added sentiment onto the background
just the image (not the background) is colored using copics.

Matted the image onto gold paper and then red card. and added some bling.
